hey everyone so in case yall didn't notice i'm your new moderator for the music section. i've noticed that it's kinda slow in here. i said to myself self why aren't people posting up in storm in here? i mean music is a part of being human. everything that we do is music... everything has a melody. you walk down the street and you hear a car honk it's horn THAT'S MUSIC!!! most major events in a person's life are connected to music and when we recall events in our life alot of the time they are set to music. if music is such a huge part of life why is it that people don't post in here?

so again i said to myself, self how can you improve the amount of activity in here? i have ideas but here is what i need from all of you... post your music biography. by that i meant what role does music play in your history? what type of music do you listen to? has the changed over time? if so why? you know things of that nature.

if we know more about the people around us we can find similarities and play off those similarities to start some discussion in here.

I studied Opera for two years and sang Jazz and gospel for 18 years. I'm working on my project and will sing backup for a local talent here in New York. Wish me luck

my musical biograpy

coming out a musical family it seem logic to most of my family members i went to the conservatory
since granddad is a trumpet player and conductor and my dad is a saxplayer .
my brother is a drummer (awesome and good)
but i didnt lol
i went to the art academy wich has nothing to do with any music
i think it was the presure that make me to make these steps to go into art
the presure that peeps always will compare ya with the talent of ya parents or grandparents

but after the art academy i was ask to play in this percussionband..wich i am still member of
we already have made a cd and toured around europe wich was fun
i am also a drummer of a jazz/bleus band

back in the days wenn i wass little the music did play a mayor rol in our lives
every sunday after church my dad set down my drumset and other guitar things in the living room open the window and musician came in and out just to jamm
it was fun back in the days

so yes music still is a mayor part of my life
i was also a part of a radio program wich only play AFRICAN BRAZILIAN WORLD MUSIC ..that was fun

next to play in bands
music inspires me to make my art pieces /paintings and sculptures


i love goin to concerts (north sea jazz festival /paradiso etc etc)
and i have kinda a nice collection of cds (ova 1000) and lps(ova 400) and lots of bootlegs tapes( a lot) and live video concert ( a lot)

hmm yep music is still in my life

being a partime student to be a artteacher i try to inspire the kids with music
and let them listen different to all kinds of music
from jazz to gotic to rock to classic and let them use the musical vibes to their art pieces........

so yep both art and music are my thing

my drum/percussionkit setup is a mixture betweem western drumkit and drums from my heritage
this is wha i use with the percussion band

the kit i use in the bleusband is a standard 5 piece kit
i like to play with no to many toms maybe i well leave out more..

I love music!
I grew up listening to gospel and having to sneak to watch mtv. I used to love to dance and sing to hip hop and r&b. Back in the day I loved SWV people used to say I looked like Coko or Lele. I used to sing in the church choir, I was a alto but they made me sing soprano. Then I started to sing in my school choirs. I lead in junior high schools concert choir which was a select class for the best of the best. In highschool they didn't have a choir so I formed a gospel choir and ran that for four years. When I came down to VA I sung in the Virginia Union Gospel choir. But when I went through my hard times in life I stopped singing. Now I can carry a note but I can't sang like I used to, so let that be a lessong that if you don't use your talent God will snatch that bad boy away. I have alot of hip hop roots so I can do a lil rhyming. LOL, I've got a track that's fire, ya'll hear it one day LOL and then of course you can hear life love reality at www.soundclick.com/auset
And I love Mary J. Blidge, Jill Scott, and Floetry, those are my fav's of the moment.

My favorite male singers are Johnny Gill, Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Musiq and Dwele. My favorite female singers are Amel Larrieux, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, Les Nubians, Ella Fitzgerald, Janet Jackson(mostly the older joints). In hip hop I love Lauryn Hill, Rakim, Common, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, X Clan, Red and Meth.

I consider myself to be musically ambidextrous and I love allexcept for country and heavy metal.

My Music Biography

Alright, me i'm in the church so of course i'm in the choir but then i'm in a group also called the annointed voices.

i'm a born writer so i write lyrics that heads trying to get their hands on. i'm trying to learn how to play different instruments so i can eventually become a producer. i don't really want to be a singer all out there in the industry, i rather be behind the scenes.

right now, even though i'm young i don't listen to a lot of rap or hip-hop unless it's via television or radio.
i'm more of a gospel and r&b listener. if you ask anybody i know, they'll say i stay listening to some slow love songs. that's what i like.
but at the same time i know mad info on different artists. i stay spittin out information for my people.

Ive loved to play and listen to music ever since i was little. When i first heard Michael Jackson's song Thriller when i was little, i loved music from then on.

Ive played alot of differnt istruments like the drums, trumpet, keyboard, piano, and they flute. Bt when i changed schools and they didnt have a band, i fell off. So now all i really play is the drums.

I Listen to Rap, R&B, and hip hop. i like alot of different artists so im not gonna nae them all. And i do listen to Slow songs every once in a while cuz i know the females like that
