yeah i think neo/nuo soul is leading the way today ... it's so real and it takes individuals to different levels .... not only does it sound good, but the lyrics are usually very well written ... it's really REAL MUSIC it has got to be neo-soul!!!!!! i mean it's not really a genre but it's off the chain!!!!! |

i think soul with a flavor of jazz and some slices of latin and sauce of blues
that would be it i think hmm but uh how ya call that

uh singersongwriter stuff is awesome too (all types of music)
wicked are the crossover bands who dont have names for their music
they use all genres in their music wich i really like
spoken word is a genre wich is by all means the hottest thing
world wide
spoken word in all his forms (rap singer song writing protest song etc poetry)

neo jazz
neo rock
neo gothic
neo
neo neo neo whateva i am just glad there is music

From AMG: Rock "Though it's roughly analagous to contemporary R&B, Neo-Soul artists pay more devotion to the era of classic soul, often seeking a sound and a style of songwriting with few concessions to events in the music world post-1975. The work of Lauryn Hill, first in the Fugees and later with her 1998 solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, proved very important to the neo-soul scene, as did the debut of Erykah Badu in 1997. Several more females made splashy debuts around the turn of the millennium, including Macy Gray, Jill Scott, India.Arie, and Alicia Keys, but only the latter broke through to broad stardom. Other figures pursuing the neo-soul sound include Raphael Saadiq, Remy Shand, Sunshine Anderson, Musiq, Peven Everett, and Jaguar Wright." I just classify it as 70s soul music updated for today. I don't know if the message is the same as then, but the vibe is still there. Next to Gospel, I love neo-soul. |

Coming from London I have to say it's Garage music, not usually my thing but the unity you see at the raves is amazing.
But nothing beats sum good old gospel in my house. No matter what the time or day I've had I will always play a little sumting.
