I just watched a special on PBS called American Masters ~that featured P-funk in all their glory and incarnations !
That is real tough they teach a similar message but from two different approaches...KRS-1 by a flip of the coin... Let's try some jazz Etta James or Dinah Washington ?

I have to say Dinah Washington her voice alone blew me away not to say I am sleeping on Etta!
Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holiday I know these two are fairly different, but which do you prefer?

Without hesitation Billie Holiday ! There is a soul and spirit in her voice that will never be heard again. each note ,each phrase gave voice to generations of history ,pain, struggle and still she was creating beauty.... she was amazing. Ok , Madeleine Peyroux or joss stone note; Peyroux though lacking real soul sounds scary, uncannily like Lady Day ...
