I don't expect anything from the sky, So high there above, like the bluest eyes unblinking. I don't expect the rain to quench my thirst, Or the snow to cool my fevered mind. I don't expect winds to carry me home When I've traveled to far alone.
I don't expect anything from the meadow. Not the birds to sing my lullaby, Nor the flowers to dance agreement to my interests. I don't expect the trees to shield me, The river to guide me, Or the mountains to lift me high above my life.
I don't expect anything from the night, Though the moon pleases me, I do not assume it glows for me. I don't expect stars to shine, clinging high, In that sky so untouchable, unreachable. I don't expect them to fall for my wishes to make.
I don't expect anything from the sun. If it shall not come, not bring another day I will not assume it bears me in mind or not. I don't expect a thought of me when the day comes. I don't expect a thought when day ending, I don't expect a thing.

This message brings forth so many thoughts and also questions. I love it because it requires the reader to question how much we take things for granted. Each word gathered together compiles a lesson to study and know. Reading your work leaves me to understand that I have more to learn about writing. Thank you.

Wow ...wow , I don't know what to say . Thank you for such an amazing deconstruction ~ you felt exactly where I was trying to take a reader and I am pleased that my intent didn't get lost ... It helps me so much to have critques , deconstructions... I am encouraged to continue this , especially today when I can't find the writer within.
Again , thank you my friend for reading and leaving such thoughtful and thought provoking comments
Merci, mon ami !
