If you haven't heard, a asian gentlemen decided to take our sterotypes and turn it into a money maker spin of monopoly with pimps ho's crack heads and guns as the peices and I forget the name of the streets but urban outfitters were distributing them. they took them off the shelf but would sell them to anyone who asked, now what do you think of that?

Girl yes I've been reading about that one! www.ghettopoly.com/In reality it is wrong, and urban outfitters was wrong for distributing it BUT so many people are guilty of stuff like this. I was talking with my friends about it and everyone was SOOOOO outraged about it. OK be outraged that's fine, but can we please stop this cycle? We get angry when someone makes fun of our community and makes money off of it but every community is guilty of it. Why is it in black movies we are allowed to have Asian characters that say things like “Hurry up and buy!” or the Arab convenient store owners in the urban gear attempting to use our slang poorly (Barbershop)? Why is that allowed to be funny? My next-door neighbors are a bunch of "rednecks" complete with confederate flags, pick-up trucks, and 50 cent cd’s. We call their cars “Red-Neck Battle Trucks”. When they are having a good time and Yea-Haw we say to everyone when you hear the Yea don’t stick around for the Haw. But if they say something about us it turns into this BIG thing! We say Mexicans will have 8 families living in one house, and three families in one hatchback, but it’s considered funny and we all laugh. We call Jewish people cheap, and I won’t even start on all the white jokes out there. All cultures are guilty in one way or another of having stereotypes about other cultures, and all I’m saying is until we can sit in our living rooms and say to our friends “That’s not funny, you shouldn’t be like that!” (Without a grin) there is no point in getting all worked up about it. Personally I think the game is stupid and I wouldn’t buy it anyway BUT, I’m not trying put any energy into boycotting it! Please answer this question, why are the leaders in the black community finding causes like Pimp Juice and Ghettopoly to fight against. Have they forgotten that there are some real issues in our community? How about the way 75% of NC schools have redrawn district lines in order to segregate our schools AND I know there have to be more issues like that out there!

Very true, I hate the fact that Kobe bryant is all up and through out my t.v. when there are people getting killed in our streets due to police brutality on the regular.
there are so many issues that our society doesn't want to deal with. We'd rather put more focus on things such as ghettopoly. So I guess the next thing we must do is decide what we are going to do to break the chain and when?
