Police Issue Alert For Missing Boy
Richmond Times-Dispatch Oct 28, 2003
Chesterfield County police today issued an "Amber Alert" for a missing 13-year-old boy who has been missing since his mother was found shot to death in the family's home on Saturday.
Chesterfield police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse are looking for Marquis Anton Jobes who has not been seen since Wednesday evening, authorities say.
The teen's mother, Tasha Robinson, 32, was found shot to death execution-style inside her home at 7811 Bur Oak Lane. Police discovered Robinson's 22-month-old son in his crib unharmed. Police believe the child had been left alone for about 48 hours.
Investigators are also looking for Robinson's live-in boyfriend, Anthony Novedo Rankine, 29, who has ties to Jamaica. The couple had known each other for about five years.
Police said Jobes is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 110 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. Jobes is believed to be in "extreme danger."

What is this world coming too?? How you gonna' kill someone and then flee with one child, but not the baby that can not fend for him/herself? It is just a shame. I pray that they found this child before it is too late. If he has been missing since Saturday and the boyfriend has known ties to Jaimaica... that is where they need to be searching.

This little boy will probally not be found and I'll tell you why, The first thing is he was missing since wendsday, doesn't it take 48 hours before they report a missing person, and now his mother was shot to death so now it's an emergency, how many tragedies needed to happen before it was an emergency? Two. Now it's of importance. But are they knocking down doors trying to find him? Or are they going to jamacia to check the ties? Highly doubt it. I just pray for this little boy and I'll keep you guy on this story so if anything else comes out I'll bring it.

Yes he was missing on Wendsday and they didn't want to do a missing person at that time. And now it's like damn, that boy wont ever be found. because the one who cared enough to find him was murdered. I wish I did see them, I'd follow them from a distance and report it before he got to the border.

Police find body inside missing man's van Associated Press Nov 5, 2003 RICHMOND, Va. - A Jamaican man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of a 13-year-old boy and the fatal shooting of the boy's mother was found dead inside a van early Wednesday morning, police said. Anthony Novedo Rankine, 29, was discovered in a rental van in a parking lot behind the Department of Motor Vehicles headquarters and the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond. Police would not say how Rankine died. Rankine had been missing since the body of his girlfriend, Tasha Robinson, was discovered shot execution style in her Chesterfield County home on Oct. 25. Robinson's son, Marquis Anton Jobes, also disappeared. Rankine had lived with Robinson, Jobes and Robinson's 22-month-old son for about a year, police said. Chesterfield police on Tuesday obtained warrants charging Rankine with distribution of marijuana, conspiracy to distribute drugs and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also wanted for immigration violations. Police said Rankine had known ties to organized crime, specifically drug trafficking, in Jamaica. Tuesday's announcement followed a roundup last week of seven men _ four described as strong associates of Rankine _ on drug conspiracy charges. State Police issued an Amber Alert for Jobes following his disappearance. Police said he may be in "extreme danger." Police said Rankine had rented the white van using his credit card about two weeks ago. Police said it had probably been in the parking lot behind the DMV office for a few days, based on the decomposition of the body. Police used search dogs to comb the area around the parking lot for clues. Rankine's body was taken to a state laboratory for an autopsy. Jobes is described as black, about 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. Any information should be directed to the Virginia State Police at (800) 822-4453, or Chesterfield County Police at (804) 748-1832. It's just getting worse!
