Hey guys... sorry it took so long... but here are the books that we need to choose from to get started reading again.
Remember... post your votes here by Friday, March 26th and we will choose what the majority wants to read and discuss. If by chance there is a tie, the moderators will choose amongst the tied books. After the book is choosen, it will be posted here and we will give you until Friday, April 2nd to purchase the book and start reading. Discussions will take place right here. Thanks!!!!
1. " Do Right Man" by Omar Tyree - Handsome, educated, and heterosexual, Bobby Dallas has no skeletons or kids in the closet. All that's missing is a talented, sexy, smart black woman by his side. And that should be easy - right? Having achieved his dream of becoming a highly successful radio talk-show host, Bobby is a man with the best of intentions not only in his career, but also in love. Bobby feels he's done everything right. He learns, though, that being a " do right man" is far from easy. Omar Tyree, author of the highly successful Flyy Girl, gives us a glimpse into the often mixed signals black men and women send to each other despite the fact that they're both waiting for the light to turn green. A Do Right Man gives us an inside view of what many black men are feeling, experiencing, and thinking in love and in their careers.
2. "Naughty or Nice" by Eric Jerome Dickey - The three McBroom sisters have always been there for one another. Frankie, the eldest, is never satisfied. Can anyone give her enough of what she wants? Middle sister Livvy, with a cheating husband, has begun an affair of her own. But does her being wronged make her new lover Mr. Right? Baby Tommie was treated badly by a man she loved and trusted. Can an older man show her the love she's been missing? When all three find themselves in crisis at the same time, they know the holidays will bring them together.
3. Love Frustration by R.M. Johnson - Jayson Abrahams is a handsome, successful brother aching for the true love of a good woman. But his damaged past haunts him, condemning him to a cycle of one-night stands and failed relationships. Empty and lonely, he resigns himself to a solo life. Then he meets Faith, a sister whose beauty enthralls him. Soon they’re planning to marry. But that walk down the aisle is complicated by accusations and manipulation… Faith has issues: Her dark secrets and blind jealousy of Jayson’s best friend Asha are fueled by her best friend Karen, who'll do anything to pull her and Jayson apart. Finally fed up, Jayson will risk the love of his life to teach them all a lesson. Explicit sex.
4. Fourplay by Brenda L. Thomas - Brenda L. Thomas’s Fourplay is a scorcher. If you liked Addicted, you’ll love this! It’s been two years since sexy marketing executive Sasha Borianni’s affair with three men came to an abrupt end, and she’s looking forward to good things now as the head of her own PR firm. Of course, old habits are hard to break, and as her client list grows, so does her interest in some of her finer new clients: There’s banking executive Jordan Ashe, a man with ever-surprising tastes; old flame NBA star Phoenix Carter, a seducer with a gambling jones; and ex-fiancé Trent, the man who dumped her and now wants her back. What’s a bad girl gone good to do? Explicit sex, language.
5. Another Man's Wife by Shonda Cheekes - Yani Fenton is starting over. Years ago, Jarrin, her husband of 15 years, walked out without so much as a “so long.” It was hard for Yani to come to terms with the fact that her man had vanished without a trace, but the support of family and friends helped her move on. New love arrives in the form of Alex Chance. One magical courtship and a fairy-tale wedding later, the couple seems destined for a life of joy. But their happily-ever-after comes to a screeching halt when Jarrin “rises from the ashes,” carting a truckload of chaos—and demanding she come back to him! Explicit subject.
