It is a trip because I just hit 34 and I have no children the friends I do have w/children say guuurl you are doin the right thing wait. I was raised in a single parent family I never wanted for anything, my mother was the sole provider but she had me because she wanted me, not just because it was "the thing to do" I take nothing away from her decision but it is one I do not feel I should have to endure alone. Who's to say marriage lasts forever? but I would like the "package deal"

. These kids think sex = adulthood/manhood/womanhood. . This is the main problem. All kids want to be now is grown. I remember playing mother may I and red light green light when I was young. Not hide and go get it. What's the deal?

I think as you stated before Justin it has sexuality as a whole has become too socially acceptable. T.v. is out in the open, people aren't trying to keep things sacred, as everyone stated the idea of marraige first is extinct and what do we expect? These girls all they see in videos and movies ancd comericals are half clothed women selling sex appeal and the boy see men that have two or three girls fighting to be with them. We aren't teaching our children any different. There is nothing different that these children are seeing. The promotion overall of sex is too much in the open for our children to see.

"The promotion overall of sex is too much in the open for our children to see. " That's it in one nutshell. Sex is made out to be fun and a joke to these kids. Sex is a gamble rollonce you may come out clean roll twice and you got a baby or an s.t.d. They don't put that on t.v though.

I just visited one of my cousins who lives in Harlem, she and her two girlfriends wanted me to hang out with them so they could show me different parts of Harlem, but it ended up being them venting to me their "man troubles." I sat down with them (like a talk show host) and I didn't want to but I'm glad I did, I learned quite a bit about how some girls (at least the one's in Harlem) calculate things.
Man, I didn't know that the whole having sex "raw" thing was to show your lover that you trust them and if you ask them to wear a condom then that let's them know you don't trust them? That's what they told me. They also shared stories with me of their past relationships where they bought all these things for their men...BIG THINGS like tuition, school books, car notes and hospital bills and the usual clothes and shoes and things.
They told me how they gave and gave and gave in their relationship and their man cheated on them and broke up with them. I could tell that they were telling the truth and what surprised me is that these girls were 21-23 years old and had had so many relationships! They told me story after story and I was feelin' bad as a guy hearing my fellow brothas not get bashed but exposed. I wanted to apologize to those girls for their immaturity, for their selfishness and lack of care but I couldn't.
I could only tell them that most guys only want one thing and it's not to be in a relationship but to get the drawers and that there are still a lot of us that want to be faithful and in a relationship but you have to choose wisely and try not to give so much so soon.
I could go on but what are your thoughts fam?

It sure is my niece at nine years old called a friends house and left a message on the machine telling her friend she can stay over and her and some Lil boy can do it. Mind you she's a sheltered child my mother doesn't let her see or go anywhere and she still knows about it.

Now a days it seems that men arent beingtaught to treat their women like QUEENS anymore. I was in a relationship with a guy that I loved so much and that I would do anything for but when he got drunk he was not loving and respectful toward me. We were out and about on Broad St. one summer and all of our friends were out there (We had a small car club). I was in the car with my best friend, my boyfriend was at his car drunk. My Bra, Bra (Brother) rode up on me so I hopped out of the car and said that I was going to rde with him. As soon as I got out of my bestfriends car I was being pulled over to him and cursed out. I was so embarrassed. I got out of that though cause just as he was crazy, he had a crazy babies mother too who was still claiming they were together. I was lucky though. These kids are growing up seeing stuff just like this or worse and it's sad.

Both of what you said is true. What is the world coming to? What will it be like when we're our grandparents age? By the time we reach that age will we be a Great Great Great Great Grandparent? Man, it's crazy.

Crazy is right these kids have no respect for no one, not even the women that give them life. I'm afraid , cause if i have to deal with them when I'm older old age ain't gonna kill me worrying is.

I think they don't respect anyone or anything cause they weren't taught the importance of it.

What is it that we can do to change this, instill this in the next generation.
It's really upsetting when you look at our history as a people to being Kings and Queens to slaves to being free to uniting (1960s-70s) to tearing each other down and not caring about much. What happened?
