Reading the latest Essence mag (Dec 06) and puffy..or whatever he is now, STATES he is not ready for a full blown commitment down the aisle.
Now I'm all for martial bliss, but do you really need to be married in this day and age?
How woud you feel if your partner wants to remain in "coupledom" without the "peice of paperchain" for the rest of your togetherness?

That was the exact reason me and my ex ended, I'm not going to be your forever until we get old permanant booty call. Uh uh! And if you don't want to marry me somebody else will, that was my story and I stuck to it, hence three years to the date of the break up I will be tying the knot, life is ironic isn't it? But no I don't agree. I was looking at the show the Unit, and one of the girlfriends whom raised her and her fiances kids since forever was thrown into a tragic situation when her man died and the govermant didn't care less. She wasn't entitled to anything, including custody of the kids she raised that were his from a previous relationship because they weren't married.

I'm not really ready for the commitment, my dating history tells it's own story..lol.

Good Good question. I'm upset I been away so long because this post is kinda old. But the topic is very current.
I think for me Coupledom would be fine. But I think in this day and age for women like myself it's all about the WEDDING. We want and just have to have it. It's all about the WEDDING...

I still firmly believe in marriage and not shacking up. I grew up in the baptist church and there is no other way. You court, marry and have children.
This current state that we're in reminds me so much of the story with Moses going up the mountain to get the 10 commandments from God. He was gone for a long time, so long that when he came down sodom and gomorrah had been going on because with Moses being gone so long they all turned their backs on God.
I'm still a firm believer in marriage and let me be the first to say that I do not follow man, I follow God. I don't care what everyone else is doing and just because they're doing it doesn't make it right, you know?
