I just heard that Avant remix of his single, and I just can't help to think of how much he sounds, acts, and even ad-libs like R. Kelly. How can artists get away with stuff like this nowadays? Bro sounds just like him! What are some other artists that you be like, "He/She sounds just like..." Holla back. I know it's mo' artists out there like that...

there are a few artists these days who wanna sound like DONNY HATHAWAY STEVIE WONDER or MARVIN GAYE
its ok by me but the artist has to develop his or her own style and not being a copycat or 'somebody- who wanna sound like' ya know wha i mean
examples in the music biz are enough
ok we have a drummer called DAVE WECKL world wide famous he does play on everybodys records but now ya hear lots of cats wanna sound like him but they forget where he got his sound from and thats from STEVE GADD and if ya go back further he got his chops from other drummers from the past these two names i just mention did copy those peeps but have develop their own signature with their playing so they dont sound like a copycat or a bad immitator they sound like them self (but ya hear where they come from) and it got SOUL and it comes FROM THE HEART thats the same with singing
another example withe another instrument the world famous DAVID SANBORN He has been copy a lot by his sound but he himself was influenced by the GREAT HANK CRAWFORD and HANK got his influences from someone else and that goes on and on

Jaheim attempts to sound like Teddy P.... But I do like Jaheim's voice, its soulful...
