for downloading music? I don't know if I would take it serious. I don't even download no more, I have enough music on my pc plus I have a connect so I don't need to do it my self but what if they rolled up to you like here you go! What would you do or say?

i'd laugh.
just shows how some people will blame ANYTHING for the reason they aren't making money off their music.
technology is up.. artists must move with the times.. throw concerts and etc..
that's like if i didn't have a CD player, me taking the record company to court because they wouldn't make the albums that i wanted available in cassette tapes... they'd be telling us the same thing "well, you have to move up with the times and technology"

downloading music..
in the beginnin i didnt wanna download from the net because i do wanna support the artist by buying their cd at the record store
the reason why i now download from the net :
1) just to listen if i feel the album /music ..if i feel it i buy the album and trow away the songs i have on the pc
2) the songs i download on the net are hard to get and even are not on cd: examples: trina broussard live mint condition live
mostly live recordings and most live recordings were broadcast on tv or radio but someone did put it on the net
so wha i would if i am being sued?
i dont know
i really dont know and ya know its a world wide thing and i live in another country and each country has its own laws
i still have question about this sueing thing
lets see back in the days before the internet and the cd we had records and cassetetapes and we did copy a record on tapes or we do tape music from a radio show did we got sued back then ??
hmm lets see who got the most money out of the recording bussines?
not the artists ...mostly the recordcompanies the managers the lawyers etc etc
this sueing attitude is something typical american.. the strange thing this thing is about seuing is getting worser and worser its more a money thing then a thing for a cause
if i see in europe its not there yet but i guess this sueing attitude is goin to be here soon too
strange but true
but back to the internet downloading thing.
there are artist who put their own mp3s on their website and ya can put ya own cd with the songs they have on the site
micheal franti does allow ya to take pics and recording during his concerts and to put it on the net and share it with the world
i will keep downloading only to listen to the music with the purpose to buy the cd i support the artist buy goin to concerts and buying cds
i agree with the realist
the artist have to go out more they have to give concerts most of the artists nowadays only make records and dont even do a worldtour or even a performance
and wha ya think of the riddiculis high prices of some performances. dang
