Antoinique was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on August 20th to Reverend and Mrs. E. Parker. A preacher’s daughter, Antoinique grew up singing in the church, a member of the school choir, and had her own gospel group in high school. At age 10, she moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida where she grew up and finished high school before entering the Army. While in Florida, Antoinique met James Watkins, father of T-Boz (Arista’s TLC), who managed her for two years as she sang background for several local artists in Miami. After two years of Army service, Antoinique ended up in Richmond, Virginia where she got serious about her musical career and began working with various producers to find her style and niche in a saturated industry. In the process, she met Nate Smith (Michael Jackson, Invincible; Monifah, Home), with whom she rejoined forces in Philadelphia. She teamed up with some Philadelphia producers in 2001, and traveled there from Virginia every weekend recording at Larry Gold’s “THE STUDIO” (Jill Scott, Santana, Boyz II Men, The Roots…) until her album was complete. The finished product, “Introducing Antoinique” is a compilation of platinum fusing jazz, neo and classic soul, and a touch of “Antoinique”. Antoinique’s musical influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Sam Cooke, and others. Antoinique thanks God everyday and gives him the praise and glory for her life and the gift of music. The music speaks the words that do not appear in this bio, and now…”Introducing Antoinique”!
