What's up fam, there are so many talented people here you know I have to share my resources, so here are some grants and awards for literary peices such as poems and short stories. You have to bare with me because you know I am doing so much but I promise you, I've got you so here we go!
Ahsahta Press Sawtooth Poetry Prize A prize of $1500 and publication by Ahsahta Press is given annually for a collection of poems. Claudia Rankine will judge. All enteries will be considered for publication. Sbmit a manuscript of at least 48 pages with a $20 entry fee by March 1. Send an SASE email or visit fore complete guidelines. Association of Writers and Writing Programs Award Series The Donald Hall Prize for poetry which includes $4000 and publication by a particiapting press will be given annually for a book lengthmanuscript of poetry. In addition three prizes of $2000 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for book length manuscripts in the categories of novel, short fiction and creative nonfiction. For the Hall Prize submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages. Alicia Ostriker will judge and the University of Pittsburgh Press will publish the winning collection for the novel award submit a manuscript of 60,000 words Elizabeth Mc Cracken will be the judge and New Issues Press is the publisher. For the short fiction award submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages. The university of Massachusetts Press is the publisher. As of this writing the judge has not been chosen. For the creative nonfiction award submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages. Susannah Lessard will judge and the University of Georgia Press is the publisher. Former student of the judge may not enter in thegenere their former teacher is judging.
