Summary: Lewis H. Latimer was a man of many talents. Lewis made the first filament light bulb. It was light by a glowing electrified filament that was made of paper. The paper will burn for 30 hours. He named it 'Incandescent'. He sold the incandescent to the United States in 1881. Lewis was also the first to invent the first tiolet system for railroad cars. He invented it in 1873. W.C. Brown helped him to make it. In 1874 Lewis recieved a patent for an improved version of the water closet. Another word for the tiolet system is 'Water Closet'. People reamembered him as a Renaissance man because of all of the things he invented. They also remembered him by his talents to. Some of his talents are poetry,painting,playwriter,musican,and a pioneering engioneer.
